The Intermodal Facility Study identifies potential future locations for intermodal facilities in the Western Cape to improve access to interconnected freight networks and support economic growth for the province

The Waste on Rail Study investigates the potential for moving waste on  rail in the Western Cape and develops the framework for how this can be done.

The Provincial Freight Strategy highlighted that the unsafe parking of trucks at undesignated locations and the prevalence of fatigued truck drivers on the roads contribute to road traffic accidents.

The Truck Stop Status Quo Assessment investigates the need for additional truck stop facilities on the road network.

The Truck Stop Study builds on the Status Quo Assessment to provide a comprehensive overview of truck stops in the Western Cape. 

It provides a broad framework for achieving improvements in the status of truck stops in the Western Cape.

 

The investigation into Western Cape Heavy Goods Vehicle Driver Skills was an exploratory study with the aim of identifying current skills and competency levels of Heavy Goods Vehicle Drivers in the Western Cape. 

The intended outcome was to identify gaps in the existing training regime and to recommend future training initiatives in support of upskilling Western Cape HGV drivers.
